[6] 2011 Bmw 335i Xdrive Making Annually Issue

BMW is recalling nearly two hundred 2011 BMW 328i and 2011 BMW 335i models equipped with its xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Certain models, built between February 8, 2011 and July 29, 2011 may have been assembled with improperly torqued front driveshaft bolts.

If the bolts come loose, loss of power to the front wheels, or even a vehicle breakdown, may be the result. While BMW has not documented any accidents or injuries relating to this recall, a component failure or vehicle breakdown could increase the risk of accident or injury.

BMW dealers will replace the front driveshaft attachment bolts on affected models when the recall begins in October. Owners will be notified by mail of the recall, but those with questions or concerns can contact BMW’s customer relations and services hotline at (800) 525-7417. This is the third recall for BMW in the month of September, 2011. Earlier recalls involved the 2009 BMW X5 Diesel, recalled for a potential fuel heater issue, and the 2002-05 BMW 3 Series, recalled for potentially defective tail lights.
