The last decade has been a transformative one for Jaguar. Once regarded as the “old man’s luxury car,” the British automaker has returned to relevancy with a full-brand overhaul, replacing nearly every model in its portfolio. Next up, the Jaguar XE, an athletic sports sedan poised to challenge the German establishment: Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The overhaul of the Jaguar lineup started in 2007 with the XF sport sedan, followed by the purchase of Jaguar-Land Rover by Indian conglomerate Tata Motors. Since then, Jaguar has rolled out a new flagship sedan (XJ), a new sports car (F-Type), and even shed some light on a future SUV. But the bread and butter of any luxury automaker tends to be the small-to-midsized entrant.
